FINAL SCORE: Vermont 58, New Hampshire 53
DURHAM, N.H.– The Catamounts snapped a three-game losing streak with an important 58-53 victory at New Hampshire on Monday night. It was Vermont's fourth win in America East play and the second road win in the conference.Â
Â
With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate another $100 to the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington, bringing this year's total to 91 wins and $9,100.
"Our team once again showed its character tonight the same way it did when we defeated Hartford," said UVM head coach
Chris Day. "To bounce back after a heartbreaking loss to UMBC, and win on the road against a great UNHÂ team, says so much about our team. This win is so well deserved for the players and staff. Our defense was incredible tonight. I am so proud of my coaches and players who continue to put time into getting better each day. It showed tonight."Â

The first meeting between UVM and UNH this season resulted in a 52-49 Wildcats win in Burlington on Jan. 18. The Catamounts led for 27 minutes in that game before losing the lead in the final minutes. However, Vermont was not about to repeat that same situation on Monday.

New Hampshire applied the pressure in the second half, but Vermont did not waver. The Catamounts lost the lead in the last five minutes but quickly reclaimed it and held on for the win.
Â
UVM was led by
Hanna Crymble. The two-time America East Player of the Week registered game-highs in points (19) and rebounds (8). Crymble finished a perfect 7-7 at the free throw line and has now logged double-figures in the scoring column in 20 of the 23 games that she has played in this season.

Sydney Smith. The senior co-captain scored 13 points (3-5 3PT), grabbed four rebounds and committed two steals.
 Â
New Hampshire featured two double-figure scorers as well. Olivia Healy led the Wildcats with 16 points, while Aliza Simpson added 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds off the bench.

The win was also Vermont's first victory against New Hampshire since the Catamounts won in Durham on Feb. 25, 2016. UVM and UNH split the season series at 1-1.
Â
UVM won the rebounding battle 40-33 and only committed two turnovers in the first half. The Catamounts also made a living inside, scoring 26 of their 58 points in the paint.
