STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The UVM women's lacrosse team suffered a 20-2 decision to the No. 1 team in the country, Stony Brook, on Friday night in America East action. The Catamounts fall to 4-7 on the year and 0-2 in league play. The Seawolves stay unbeaten at 9-0 overall and improve to 2-0 in the conference standings.

MacKenzie Bolt and
Alex Bernier led the way offensively for the Catamounts with one goal apiece. Bernier scooped up four ground balls and caused one turnover.
Courtney Cole tallied five ground balls and caused a turnover.
Maddy Kuras recorded six saves in 40 minutes of action and
Catherine Green made a pair of saves in a relief appearance.
The Seawolves had a trio of players notch four goals each – Kyle Ohlmiller, Courtney Murphy, and Ally Kennedy. Ohlmiller also handed out four assists for eight points on the evening. Anna Tesoriero picked up the win in goal and stopped three shots.
Stony Brook scored the first seven goals of the contest before Bolt took advantage of a free position opportunity. The freshman got the Cats on the board at the 18:20 mark, but the Seawolves countered with two more scores.
Bernier added UVM's second goal near the midway point of the first half. Bernier tracked down a ground ball after
Jenna Janes' shot was saved by Tesoriero, then forced a Stony Brook foul. The senior buried her ninth goal of the season on the free position attempt.
