The 21-goal output was the highest single-game total for the Green and Gold since scoring 23 goals against UMass Lowell on April 19, 2015. Vermont also outshot its America East counterpart 41-4 and won the turnover battle 24-8.

UVM had four players register a hat trick. Jenna Janes racked up five points on four goals and one assist. The junior has logged a hat trick in three out of the last four games. Elena McWright and Elise Koehl added four points apiece with three goals and one assist. Ali Korin tallied her first career hat trick with three goals. She also won five draw controls and caused a pair of turnovers. Courtney Cole and Becca Olsen contributed two goals each. Lexi Gordon also found the back of the net for the first time in her collegiate career. Maddy Kuras earned her fifth win of the season as the junior held the Hawks scoreless through 30 minutes of action. Catherine Green completed the defensive effort between the pipes in the second half.

Hartford's Birdie Montes scored the team's lone goal. Goalie Cassidy Hock suffered the loss and made 12 saves, scooped up three ground balls, and caused two turnovers.

The first half belonged to the Catamounts as the home team outscored Hartford 11-0 after the first 30 minutes. Koehl and Janes were on point through the opening six minutes with a combined four goals. Vermont kept the offensive momentum on its side with three more tallies in a three-minute stretch from Sabrina Tatterfield, McWright, and Koehl's third goal of the day.

Janes recorded a first-half hat trick of her own near the midway point. Korin scored UVM's next two goals and McWright notched the final goal of the period with 28 ticks left on the clock.

The Catamounts kept rolling in the second half with 10 more goals. UVM reeled off five scores through the first 10 minutes of the final period before Montes broke the shutout at the 18:35 mark.

Vermont responded with goals from Alex Vignona three minutes later, then Gordon reached the scoring column with 11:12 left to play. The Cats closed out the game with three goals in the final seven minutes from Courtney Cole, Olsen's second goal of the half, and Alice Cumpston's first score of the season.

Saturday's matinee was UVM's annual Rally Against Cancer game, presented by Otter Creek Awnings and Vermont Custom Closets.

With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate another $100 to the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington, bringing this year's total to 56 wins and $5,600.
