BURLINGTON, Vt. – The UVM men's soccer team scored three second-half goals in a 4-0 shutout over Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday night. The match was the apart of the Peter Baldwin Memorial Classic, presented by Morgan Stanley. Vermont improves to 4-1 while Fairleigh Dickinson falls to 2-2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geo Alves scored the first goal of the evening in the 26th minute. Daði Bærings Halldórsson launched a feed from midfield and Alves tracked the ball down in the box, then chipped his third goal of the season over FDU goalie Jahmali Waite (4 saves).
- Justin Freitas added to Vermont's lead in the 61st minute. From 25 yards out, Jon Arnar Barðdal sent a low pass to Freitas on the right side of the box and the senior forward fired a line drive to the far post.
- Barðdal kept the scoring attack going in the 75th minute and pushed UVM's advantage to 3-0. Dani Rovira chipped a pass over the defense for Barddal, who was one-on-one with Waite, and drove a shot into the center of the net.
- Freitas polished off the night with his second goal in the 78th minute. The senior finished with a sliding kick shot in front of the net after receiving a cross from Rovira in the left corner.
NOTES
- UVM improves to 4-1 overall for the third time in the last five years.
- The Catamounts will try to claim the Peter Baldwin Memorial Classic title for the second time in the last three seasons
- With the win, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate another $100 to the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington, bringing this year's total to 63 wins and $6,300.
