COACH'S QUOTE
"We always know Colgate is a difficult match and that's why they are on our schedule," head coach Rob Dow said. "They certainly helped us prepare for the weekend. I feel like we should have got a different result but football can be strange sometimes."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Shortly after halftime, Frosti Brynjólfsson sent a strong cross from the right corner and Rasmus Tobinski dove head-first but his header misfired to the left.
  • In the 67th minute, the Catamounts had a chance to capitalize on back-to-back corner kicks. Joe Morrison was open in front of the net after some pinball action but his potential go-ahead score was saved by a Raider defender. Luke Hansen tried to finish the rebound opportunity but his chance was blocked.
  • Two minutes later, the Raiders cleared away another Vermont corner kick but Daði Bærings Halldórsson tracked the ball down near the edge of the 18-yard box. The junior sliced a shot towards the far post but Colgate keeper Jacob Harris (6 saves) knocked the ball away with a diving save.
  • In double overtime, Alberto Kian played a ball from midfield to the left side of the box for Kentaro Morrison, forcing Runarsson to come out of net. Morrison's initial attempt was blocked by Runarsson, but the ball bounced free and Morrison drove the game-winning goal into the left side of the net.
GAME NOTES
  • Runarsson finished the match with six saves.
  • Tobinski guided the offensive attack with six shot attempts.
  • Tuesday night was the first overtime game of the season for the Catamounts.
  • The match was Vermont's annual Rally Around Mental Health Game.
  • Despite the setback, UVM leads the all-time series 8-6-2.
