COACH'S QUOTE
"I didn't think we played well tonight to be honest with you," head coach Kevin Sneddon said. "I want to credit Maine; I thought they were better at a game we should have played; they were stronger on pucks, won more battles, and won more races."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Schmidt-Svejstrup opened the scoring at 14:32 of the first period. The Black Bears won an offensive zone faceoff to the right of Stefanos Lekkas (30 saves) and Tim Doherty found Schmidt-Svejstrup open in the slot, where he tallied his third goal of the season.
  • Joey Cipollone tied the game at 1-1 with 14:48 to play in the third period. The sophomore batted a rebound from Andrew Lucas past Maine goalie Jeremy Swayman (31 saves) from the right hash mark. William Lemay assisted on the goal with Lucas.
  • Schmidt-Svejstrup scored his second goal of the game on the power play with 6:21 left to play in the third period. Levi Kleiboer and Emil Westerlund assisted on the eventual game-winning goal.
  • The Catamounts pulled Lekkas with 1:20 to play in a last effort to tie the game at 2-2. However, Maine held on defensively for the 2-1 conference win.
