HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jenna Janes opened the scoring for the Cats 1:49 into the game, but UNH's Mickenzie Larivee (5 goals, 2 assists) answered minutes later. The Wildcats tallied five straight goals, including four from Larivee.
  • Jenny Caoili and Taylor Mullen recorded goals later in the first half as the Catamounts trailed the Wildcats 11-3 at the break.
  • The Catamounts started the second half with a sense of urgency. Caoili began the scoring spree with a goal in the first minute of play, then Elise Koehl and Maris Large buried goals within 24 seconds of each other.
  • The twin state rivals traded scores for an eight-minute stretch as UNH held a 16-9 lead at the midway point of the second half.
  • The Green and Gold sparked a comeback and clawed back into the game. Alex Vignona found Dani Paterno in the midst of a defensive cluster, who lined a shot into the bottom left corner of the net. Janes kept the ball rolling with an unassisted goal a minute later then Caoili and Janes teamed up under the 12-minute mark. Janes sent a pass to a defended Caoili, but the senior snagged the pass with her stick and finished the scoring chance. Paterno capped off the run with her second goal of the afternoon with 10:47 left to play.
  • UNH countered with a run of its own and put the game out of reach with four goals in the final seven minutes of action.
