CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – A three-goal third period led Boston College (12-9-2, 11-7-1 HEAW) over Vermont (9-10-5, 6-8-3 HEAW) 7-5 in a high-scoring contest Friday night at Conte Forum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles quickly grabbed a 1-0 lead when Delaney Belinskas snuck a shot past Blanka Škodová (27 saves). Hannah Bilka and Alexie Guay were credited with assists on the opening marker, which came just 43 seconds into the game.
- Corinne McCool netted her 11th goal of the 2019-20 campaign 2:58 later to knot the game up at one apiece. Ève-Audrey Picard fired the initial shot and McCool cleaned up the rebound. Sini Karjalainen registered her 17th assist of the season.
- Vermont took at 2-1 lead into the break courtesy of Val Caldwell's late first-period goal. The junior rushed into the offensive zone and beat Kelly Pickreign (21 saves) low blocker side. Alyssa Holmes and Lilly Holmes assisted on the go-ahead goal.
- The conference foes quickly exchanged goals in a six-goal second period. Kelly Browne briefly tied the game at 2-2, but Maude Poulin-Labelle answered with her 11th of the season on the power play. Belinskas then knotted the game at 3-3 with her second marker of the night before the midway point of the frame.
- Kristina Shanahan scored twice in 2:50 to give Vermont a 5-3 lead. She rang a shot off the left post and in on her first marker and deflected a shot by Anna Erickson with 1:52 left in the second period. Lindsay Agnew scored 41 seconds before the break to cut the UVM lead to one.
- Belinskas scored her third of the night with 10:46 left in regulation to tie it up at 5-5 and Savanah Norcross sealed the game with 1:54 remaining. Bilka added an empty-netter in the final minute.
NOTES
- Sini Karjalainen's set the single-season program record for most assist by a defenseman with her 17th helper of the season. The previous mark was set by Peggy Wakeham '11 who had 16 assists in the 2008-09 season.
