"Maude had a tremendous week and it's great to see her recognized by Hockey East," said head coach
Jim Plumer. "She is consistently impacting the game at both ends of the ice and her offensive production really helped us against Northeastern and Providence this week. We hope to see her continue this high level of play."
Poulin-Labelle led the league in goals (2), assists (3), and points (5). She also had the most goals in the nation by a defenseman and matched the highest-point total by a Division-I blueliner.
The sophomore began the week with two points on the road at third-ranked Northeastern (Dec. 30). She produced an assist in the first period and temporarily tied the game with her ninth goal of the season in the third. Poulin-Labelle then recorded her fourth-career three-point game against Providence on Saturday (Jan. 4) at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
The Sherbrooke, Québec native registered her team-leading 10th goal and 20th point of the season. Poulin-Labelle has the most goals and points by a Hockey East blueliner. She became the first Catamount defender to register 10 goals in a season since
Taylor Willard '18 tallied 10 in the 2015-16 season. Poulin-Labelle is also the only defenseman in the country to record a hat trick this season, which came against Dartmouth (Oct. 29).
The weekly honor is the second of Poulin-Labelle's career. She was named Rookie of the Week on February 4, 2018.
Vermont returns to action on Saturday (Jan. 11) when it hosts Merrimack at Gutterson Fieldhouse. Puck drop is slated for 4 p.m. Tickets for the Hockey East contest are available for purchase at
