COACH'S QUOTE
"We are still struggling to find offense and to play in the offensive zone but we believe that our process right now is the most important thing for the development of this team," said Head Coach Todd Woodcroft. "We defended well with only one five-on-five goal against but we have to find ways to score without the man advantage. Like any organization or team that has yet to find its rhythm, we need to depend on our foundation, our process and go to it when things are not seemingly going our way."

"There were many positives for us, our third period, for the third game in a row, was very good," continued Woodcroft. "Our goaltending was very good. New player Tristan Mullin, even though he hasn't played a game all season and has only had a few practices with the team was good too. So, we will continue to build and build and build and remain positive, knowing that our process is something we have faith in."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Huskies opened the scoring on their first power play of the night 9:51 into the first period. From the point Dylan Jackson fired a pass down low and Northeastern's Riley Hughes redirected the puck through traffic and just past Vermont's Tyler Harmon for his third goal of the season.
  • Just 2:23 later the Huskies doubled their advantage with Ty Jackson's third goal of the season. In transition Jackson received a feed from Gunnarwolfe Fontaine and deked around Harmon before tapping it home.
  • In the second period the Northeastern power play continued to click. Fontaine scored two goals with the man advantage to push the Huskies lead to four. His first career goal came 2:26 into the middle frame and his second goal at the 9:11 mark spelled an early end to the night for Harmon (13 saves).
  • First-Year goaltender Gabe Carriere came in for the Catamounts and held Northeastern off the board in the second half of the game, making 23 saves.
  • The Catamounts power play struck 6:32 into the third period. In his first appearance in the green and gold graduate transfer Tristan Mullin fired home a one-timer off a feed from Conner Hutchison for his 50th career point. Hutchison and fellow first-year Ray Vitolins earned their first career collegiate points with assists on the play.
  • Northeastern goaltender Connor Murphy made seven saves following the Vermont tally to seal his third win of the season.
