WORCESTER, Mass. – Vermont cut the Holy Cross lead to one in the fourth quarter, but could not find an equalizer as the Crusaders held on for a 10-9 win over the Catamounts Saturday afternoon at Kuzniewski Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Holy Cross jumped to a 2-0 lead through 15 minutes behind goals from Justin Lynskey and Sean Mullaney. Crusader goalie Jonathan Tesoro made five saves and Catamount goalie Ryan Cornell finished the period with three saves.
- Liam Limoges scored twice and Thomas McConvey added Vermont's third goal in the second quarter. The Crusaders added four goals in the second quarter to extend their lead to three goals at 6-3.
- Vermont and Holy Cross each added two goals in the third quarter to give the Crusaders an 8-5 lead heading into the fourth quarter. McConvey scored his second of the day and Rob Hudson found the back of the net for the first time this season for the Catamounts.
- The Catamount comeback effort saw the Holy Cross lead cut to one goal with 6:56 to play in regulation. However, the Crusaders managed to maintain their lead and ultimately stopped UVM's last gasp effort as time expired.
GAME NOTES
- Limoges and McConvey each recorded hat tricks in the loss. It marked the fifth career hat trick for Limoges and third career hat trick for McConvey.
- Holy Cross held a 22-20 advantage in shots on goal and a 31-24 advantage in ground balls.
- The Crusaders won the battle at the X, going 14-for-23 (60.8%) in the game.
