"This is a well-deserved honor for Maude who really had a breakout season for us a sophomore," head coach
Jim Plumer said. "She really is a weapon for us, jumping into the offense at opportune times and playing over 25 minutes per game. We are really excited to see her continue to develop in these next two years."
Poulin-Labelle tied for the Catamounts lead in scoring this season with 29 points in 36 games played. She set the single-season record for most points by a UVM defenseman, and matched the single-season record for most goals (12). In October, Poulin-Labelle became the first UVM blueliner to record a hat trick when she notched a trio of goals against Dartmouth. She is one of only four defensemen in the nation with a hat trick this season.
The sophomore ranked fifth among the nation's blueliners in goals. Her regular season point total was the eighth-highest by a Division I defenseman.
In conference play, Poulin-Labelle was tied second among Hockey East defensemen in points (20). She also notched the second-most goals (7) against conference opponents and was tied sixth in assists (13) among the league's blueliners.
The Sherbrooke, Québec native earned several weekly honors from the conference this season. She was named Hockey East Player of the Week on January 6 after producing a league-high five points. The blueliner was later named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week on February 10.
Poulin-Labelle is the sixth Catamount in program history to be named a Hockey East All Star, and the first since
Taylor Willard in the 2017-18 season. She was also nominated for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award this season by the league's coaches.
Senior captain
Ève-Audrey Picard also received Hockey East recognition. She was runner-up in the voting for the league's Best Defensive Forward.
