HANOVER, N.H. – A late first-half goal by Finn Callahan was the deciding marker as Dartmouth (2-9, 0-3 Ivy) defeated Vermont (8-4-2, 3-1-1 AE) 1-0 on Tuesday night at Burnham Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts outshot the Big Green 3-1 in the opening 25 minutes. Nacho Lerech fired two shots, directing one on goal that was saved by Costi Christodoulou (4 saves).
- Callahan netted the game's only goal late in the 34th minute after chasing down a deep ball from Christodoulou. The rookie slipped behind the Vermont defense and around Nate Silveira for the clinching marker.
- Mujtaba Mirhasan nearly scored the equalizer for the Catamounts in the 40th minute. Cole Richardson directed a cross into the 18-yard box where Mirhasan's header rattled off the crossbar.
- Vermont added three more shots on goal in the second half in search of the tying goal. Lerech rushed the Dartmouth goal but was denied by Christodoulou at the top of the six-yard box. Mirhasan nearly curled a kick into the lower right corner in the 70th minute, but was stopped once again by the Big Green goalkeeper.
- A header by Alex Nagy at the top of the six was saved in the 78th minute as Christodoulou turned away one of the Catamounts' best scoring chances of the game.

- UVM held a 12-9 shot advantage over Dartmouth. Nagy and Lerech paced the Catamounts with four shots apiece.
- Mirhasan's two shots came in 43 minutes of play.
- Zach Barrett and Matt Black also registered one shot for UVM.

Vermont returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 23) when it hosts UAlbany at Virtue Field. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. The Catamounts will honor eight seniors on Senior Day, presented by the UVM Alumni Association. The afternoon will also be Poster Day, presented by UVM Print & Mail. On Saturday, youth soccer players grades seven or younger can enter the game for free by wearing their jersey. Parents accompanying their youth soccer players can purchase a ticket at the group rate.
