COACH'S QUOTE
"We gave it everything we had this weekend and I'm proud of the effort," said Head Coach
Jim Plumer. "Northeastern is a complete team and we simply have little margin for error against a team like that. Still we put a lot of pressure on them at times and we can build on that heading into the playoffs."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Knoll opened the scoring Saturday with a great individual effort. Northeastern goaltender Aerin Frankel left the puck for Knoll and she went end-to-end and cut between two UVM defenders before firing a quick wrist shot past Vermont's Jessie McPherson. The Huskies power play tally came with 5:56 left in the first.
- The Huskies appeared to take control of the game with two goals 2:11 apart late in the second period. Alina Mueller scored her ninth of the season with 3:15 left in the period and Mia Brown added her third of the year with 1:04 left in the middle frame.
- Sara Levesque brought the Catamounts back in it early in the final frame. Hailey Burns won a faceoff back to Levesque and through traffic she fired a shot past Frankel for her second goal of the season.
- The Catamounts dominated the next few minutes, hemming Northeastern in their zone but with nine minutes left in regulation Aurard reestablished the Huskies three-goal edge with their first shot of the third period. Aurard caused a turnover at the NU blueline and broke in alone on McPherson. She deked backhand to forehand to put home her 12th goal of the season.

- After just three shots in the first period the Catamounts had 22 shots in the final 40 minutes.
