WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Vermont women's hockey junior
Maude Poulin-Labelle was named a Hockey East Second Team All-Star following her nine-point output in 10 conference games this season. The awards were voted on by the league's coaches and announced on Saturday morning.
"It's great to see Maude recognized by the other league coaches for the impact she's had this year," said Head Coach
Jim Plumer. "She's made significant improvements in all areas of her game, especially in distributing the puck and in her defensive play. I am excited to see her continue her great play during the playoffs."
Poulin-Labelle led the Catamounts in scoring this season with one goal and eight assists for nine points. At 0.90 points-per game she was the second highest scoring defenseman in the NCAA this season. On January 11, Poulin-Labelle was named Hockey East Player of the Week after notching a goal and three assists during a weekend sweep at UConn.
Following her Third Team All-Star nod last season Poulin-Labelle is the third Catamount in program history to be named a Hockey East All-Star twice. Roxanne Douville '14 was honored as a First Team All-Star during 2012-13 and 2013-14 campaign while
Taylor Willard '18 was honored as a Second Team All-Star following the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.
After earning the four-seed in Hockey East this season the Vermont women's hockey program will host the five-seed Maine in a single game Hockey East Quarterfinal Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Sunday's game will air for free on SportsLive with Rob Ryan on the call.
