COACH'S QUOTE
"We scored at the beginning of the game and we scored at the end of the game and those are critical moments," head coach
Rob Dow said. "Our identity in our attack has changed and I give credit the team for being able to adapt."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts grabbed a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute. On the right side of the 18-yard box, Arian Pilja dished a low pass to Alex Nagy near the goal line, who tapped a pass back into the center of the box and Evan Rouleau drove a one-timer into the left side of the net.
- Shortly into the second half, Rouleau nearly added an insurance goal for the Cats. The junior drilled the potential go-ahead score off the near post.
- The Highlanders tied the game in the 65th minute with a goal from Jose Adames. From 25 yards out, Tomas Jorge chipped a feed to the left side. Adames worked his way through a defender, then sliced the equalizer into the top right corner of the net.
- NJIT came close to taking the lead in the 72nd minute. Luc Smith found Sergio Pita sprinting up the seam who rifled a line drive at UVM goalie Nate Silveira from close range but the senior netminder made a diving save to keep the 1-1 tie.
- As the clock ticked inside of the final minute, Nagy hooked a left-footed corner kick in front of the net where Egan used his precision to knock a header past NJIT goalie Samuel Reisgys.
