BURLINGTON, Vt. - University of Vermont Director of Athletics
Jeff Schulman announced Monday afternoon that UVM coaches
Dominique Bryant,
Jake Bernhardt and
Adrian DuBois have all been promoted to associate head coach in their respective sports.
Bryant is in her fifth season with the women's basketball program and has played a key role in Vermont's resurgence in America East. In her work with Vermont's post players she helped Hanna Crymble '20 develop into a force on both ends of the floor. As a senior, she led the team in scoring and was the first Catamount since 2008 to be named America East Defensive Player of the Year. Last season first year forward
Anna Olson became the first Catamount to be named America East Rookie of the Year since 2007. Olson led the Catamounts last season with 13.3 points-per game and 6.8 rebounds-per game.
"We are thrilled to promote Dominique to Associate Head Coach," said Mayer Women's Basketball Coach
Alisa Kresge. "Dominique is heavily involved and responsible for developing our players and team. She has helped shape our program in all areas. Dominique is well on her way to becoming a head coach very soon and we're very lucky to have her."
Bernhardt will begin his sixth season with the men's lacrosse program this fall. Bernhardt's offensive attack has fueled the most successful four-year stretch in program history. The Catamounts have advanced to the last three America East Championship games culminating in their first-ever title this spring. UVM also earned a share of the America East regular season title for the first time in program history and made its inaugural appearance in the NCAA Tournament behind an offense that averaged 13.43 goals-per game.
"
Jake Bernhardt has been absolutely instrumental in building Vermont lacrosse over the past five years, said Head Coach
Chris Feifs. "His relentless work ethic, meaningful relationships with the players, and understanding of the game make him one of the finest coaches I have ever had the privilege to work with as a player or coach. I hope to have the chance to work alongside Jake for many years to come and I know our players do too. The future is bright in Catamount Country!"
As the Associate Head Coach, Bernhardt's duties will now include recruiting coordinator in addition to leading the Catamounts offensive attack.
The 2021 season for men's soccer will be DuBois' third with the Catamounts. His impact on the Catamounts has been immediate, since joining the staff in 2019 UVM has compiled a 9-2-2 mark in America East. In the 2019 campaign UVM clinched its fourth America East regular season title in program history. This spring the Catamounts advanced to the America East Championship game for the first time since 2015.
"I am very excited to promote Adrian to associate head coach, said Head Coach
Rob Dow. "He has been an integral part of our success over his time here at Vermont. He's done a fantastic job recruiting, coaching and supporting the program and this promotion is well deserved. I look forward to continuing to work with him as we compete for America East titles and NCAA Tournament success."
