Rob Dow announced additions to his leadership group for the 2021 campaign on Tuesday afternoon. Goalkeeper
Nate Silveira and midfielder
Daniel Pacella will join
Nolan Jimmo and
Garrett Lillie as captains for the upcoming season.

"Nate and Daniel are the right leaders to compliment our current leadership team," said Dow. "On and off the field, these two gentleman always have a team first mentality and can keep everyone moving in the right direction."
Silveira started seven games in net last season and posted four clean sheets with a league-leading 0.833 save percentage. The East Providence, Rhode Island native's highlights include a 110-minute shutout against 17th-ranked New Hampshire. Pacella was named America East Rookie of the Year last season. The sophomore started in all eight games as a first-year and also earned America East All-Conference Second Team and All-Rookie honors.
Jimmo and Lillie captain the Catamounts for the second consecutive season. The graduate student from Shelburne, Vermont saw action in seven games a season ago and contributed to five wins and five clean sheets. Lillie earned America East All-Conference Second Team honors for his play in the 2020-21 spring campaign. The UVM defender started all eight games for the Catamounts and registered an assist on the clinching goal in Vermont's America East Semifinal win over NJIT last season.
Vermont was selected second in the America East Preseason Coaches' Poll earlier this month. The Catamounts begin the 2021 campaign on Thursday, August 26 with a trip to Iona, which kicks off at 1 p.m. After stops at Lehigh (Aug. 29) and Colgate (Sep. 3), Vermont returns to Burlington for the home opener on Tuesday, September 7 when it hosts Princeton at Virtue Field.
