Silveira matched league-bests in goals against average (.000) and save percentage (1.000) after Vermont's shutout victories on the road. The senior recorded five saves in UVM's 2-0 season-opening win at Iona on Thursday (Aug. 26) for his sixth career clean sheet. Silveira added two saves to his season total in 78:23 of action as the Cats defeated Lehigh 3-0 on Sunday (Aug. 29).
The Defensive Player of the Week honor is the second of Silveira's career. The East Providence, Rhode Island native earned his first weekly award on March 16, 2021 when he posted a clean sheet at nationally-ranked New Hampshire.
Silveira and the Catamounts return to action on Friday (Sep. 3) with a non-conference tilt at Colgate. Fans can watch the game live on ESPN+. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Beyer-Small '76 Field in Hamilton, New York.
