COACH'S QUOTE
"I'm just really proud of the effort – this team continues to impress me with its grit and perseverance throughout these last few games," head coach
Kate Pfeifer said. "We've got to be smart with our recovery and this is good preparation as we get ready for conference play."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Puck Kwaspen got UVM on the board early in the second quarter on a penalty corner. Kate Hall inserted the ball to Kwaspen at the top of the circle and her low drive beat the Big Green goalie for a 1-0 lead. It was pucks first career goal.
- Dartmouth found the equalizer in the early stages of the fourth quarter on a quick counterattack. Lila Browne sent a low shot to the far side of Sierra Espeland's cage and it snuck by the veteran keeper to tie the game.
- Just two minutes later as Vermont was threatening in the Dartmouth circle, Kate Hall pounced on a loose ball and sent it home for her first goal of the season on an assist from Lauren Shellhamer – her first career point.
- Espeland preserved the win with an outrageous save in the late stages of the fourth. Dartmouth earned a penalty corner and a shot from the top of the key was deflected on net but Espeland slid to her right and with an outstretched stick made the save.
