DURHAM, N.H. – The Vermont field hockey team erased one-goal deficits on two separate occasions and
Sophia Lefranc scored in overtime with seven seconds remaining to defeat New Hampshire, 3-2, Friday afternoon at Memorial Field.
The Catamounts improve to 10-3 overall and 4-2 in league play while the Wildcats fall to 6-7 and 2-3 in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- New Hampshire got on the board first with nine minutes gone in the first quarter when Nicole Poulakis sent a penalty stroke past Sierra Espeland (nine saves).
- UVM answered back at the start of the second quarter. Lauren Shellhamer forced a turnover in the offensive circle and slotted a shot inside the left post for the first goal of her career and a tie game.
- Leah Glidden put UNH back in front when a bounding ball from Jaiden Wittel found her waiting stick at the back post and she put it in an empty cage with 12 minutes remaining.
- The Cats wasted no time getting the tying goal less than a minute later. Sophia Dree sent a shot towards Jemma Woods' cage on a penalty corner and Kate Hall deflected the aerial flick for her fourth goal of the season.
- With seven second remaining in overtime, Sophia Lefranc ended it in favor of UVM. She made a trio of Wildcats dribbling into the circle and t hen, from a sharp angle, sent a backhand shot to the far post for the game-winner.

- Vermont is now 4-1 in games that have gone to overtime this season.
- The Cats reached double-digit wins for the consecutive seasons – the first time that has happened since 2006 and 2007.
- UVM is now tied with the 2018 team with four league win – the most in program history.
