BURLINGTON, Vt. - Moulton Winder Field, the home of Vermont Field hockey will be getting a new state-of-the art turf for the 2023 season. The new pitch will feature the poligras platinum hockey turf system and installation will begin at the conclusion of the Catamounts 2022 campaign.

The installation will include 95,175 square feet of AstroTurf® Synthetic Turf and a modernized irrigation system. The playing field will be green and surrounded by a Catamount gold border.Â

Following one of the most successful seasons in program history, the program is seeking to continue its upward trend under Head Coach
Kate Pfeifer with the best surface technology offered in field hockey. "The impact of a quality playing surface on performance, particularly in the sport of field hockey, is unquestionable," said Pfeifer. "I look forward to coaching our talented student-athletes on a field that fully supports their athletic and technical abilities."

Vermont opens the season against Syracuse on August 27Â at neutral host Yale. The Catamounts will take the pitch for their home opener on Friday, September 2Â against Merrimack at 3 p.m.Â
