BURLINGTON, Vt. – On a rainy Sunday afternoon, the Catamounts played to a 0-0 tie with UMBC in the annual Peter Baldwin Youth Weekend presented by Morgan Stanley. This was the first America East conference game of the season for both squads. With the result, UVM moves to 3-4-1 (0-0-1 AE) while UMBC proceeds to 4-3-3 (0-0-1 AE) on the season.

"We did not get the three points we were after today, but we were happy with our defending and to get a shutout and a point in league play," said head coach
Kristi Huizenga. "We had many chances on goal that fell just short and credit UMBC for their defensive efforts."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams went back-and-forth in a scoreless match, with the Catamounts registering 15 shots to the Retrievers eight.
- Abbey Knobel almost got the scoring started for UVM with a floating shot that caromed off the crossbar in the 12th minute.
- The best opportunity for UVM came on a diving header from Karen Wallace in the 78th minute, which almost made it a 1-0 game for Vermont, but it sailed just high over the crossbar.

- Despite the shot advantage for the Catamounts, UMBC recorded seven shots on goal to Vermont's four.
- UVM recorded eight corners to the Retrievers one.
- Erin Murphy finished with seven saves for Catamounts.
