Princeton opened the 2022 campaign with a 1-1 draw against cross-state rival Rutgers on Friday night. Daniel Diaz Bonilla scored the tying goal for the Tigers in the season opener. The senior registered 14 points (4 goals, 6 assists) a season ago, which leads all returners. Princeton was tabbed as the favorite in the Ivy League preseason poll, garnering 12 of the 16 first-place votes. The Tigers are led by senior Lucas Gen who was named to the United Soccer Coaches' Defenders to Watch list.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont and Princeton meet for the third time in series history, and the second time in as many seasons. The all-time series is knotted up at 1-1, with the Catamounts earning a 2-0 victory a season ago at Virtue Field. Alex Nagy scored the clinching goal in the second half, and Nate Silveira recorded a six-save shutout in the victory.

IVY STRETCH

The Catamounts will return home on Saturday (Sept. 10) to host Harvard in the second-game of the Ivy stretch. Kickoff against the Crimson is slated for 7 p.m. at Virtue Field. Vermont will then head back on the road to face Cornell on Sept. 13.

DRAWING NO. 15 'CUSE
