Vermont (1-1-1) begins a three-game stretch with Ivy League foes when it faces reigning champs Princeton (0-0-1) on Monday (Sep. 5) at Sherrerd Field in Princeton, N.J. The opening kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. and will broadcast live on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Princeton opened the 2022 campaign with a 1-1 draw against cross-state rival Rutgers on Friday night. Daniel Diaz Bonilla scored the tying goal for the Tigers in the season opener. The senior registered 14 points (4 goals, 6 assists) a season ago, which leads all returners. Princeton was tabbed as the favorite in the Ivy League preseason poll, garnering 12 of the 16 first-place votes. The Tigers are led by senior Lucas Gen who was named to the United Soccer Coaches' Defenders to Watch list.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont and Princeton meet for the third time in series history, and the second time in as many seasons. The all-time series is knotted up at 1-1, with the Catamounts earning a 2-0 victory a season ago at Virtue Field.

IVY STRETCH
Monday's meeting with the Tigers begins a three-game stretch against Ivy League opponents. The Catamounts will return home on Saturday (Sept. 10) to host Harvard in the second-game of the Ivy stretch. Kickoff against the Crimson is slated for 7 p.m. at Virtue Field. Vermont will then head back on the road to face Cornell on Sept. 13.

The Catamounts played to a hard-fought 1-1 draw against 15th-ranked Syracuse on Friday night at Virtue Field.
Yaniv Bazini scored the lone UVM goal, marking his first tally since joining the Catamounts.Â
NO. 1 IN THE NORTHEAST
The Catamounts were ranked No.1 in the United Soccer Coaches' Northeast Poll prior to kickoff on Tuesday afternoon. Vermont received 16 points in the National Poll.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nate Silveira was named America East Defensive Player of the Week following his four-save shutout in the season-opening win at Merrimack. The East Providence, R.I. native is one of only 10 goalkeepers in the country to record a shutout in the first week of the season.
