I am looking forward to the stretch run now and continuing to improve. We have a tough weekend in Boston coming up and we will be ready for two big battles."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Huskies opened the scoring with 8:11 left in the opening frame on their first power play attempt of the contest. - The teams entered the third period tied at one. Midway through the third the Catamounts earned their second power play of the game. On the ensuing power play UVM had two chances that were turned aside by Gwyneth Philips. With 10 seconds left in the initial opportunity Northeastern was called for another infraction. UVM called timeout to set up their opportunity.
- Northeastern blocked four shots on the UVM power play and then took advantage going the other way. On a two-on-one down low Murphy fed a perfect cross-crease pass to Katy Knoll and she tapped it home on her backhand for her 17th goal of the season with 5:40 to play.
