COACH'S QUOTE
"Feeling great, a two-win weekend was really important," said head coachÂ
Kate Pfeifer. "The team was really high after an emotional win Friday and we knew this non-league game later in the year was going to be tough. It was great to come out and get some different players some opportunities on the field today, and put some goals in."
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Vermont opened the scoring just 3:17 into the contest. Meg Weyer sent a long feed from the Catamounts end and Lotte Kanters beat the Colgate defender to the ball. Kanters stickhandled into the circle before blasting her fourth goal of the season just inside the far post.
- The Catamounts struck again 10 minutes into the second quarter. Sophia Lefranc intercepted a Colgate pass in the midfield and moved in one-on-one with a Colgate defender. She beat Claire van Kempen with a quick backhand for her ninth goal of the season.
- 2:42 later Alina Gerke made it a 3-0 lead for Vermont. She took a restart along the Colgate end line and flipped a shot over the Raiders goalkeeper. Gerke's shot deflected off a Colgate defenders stick and found the back of the net for Gerke's 10th goal of the season.
- Vermont made it 4-0 4:10 into the third quarter. Kanters intercepted a Colgate pass and quickly fired a shot towards the net. Right in front of the Raiders goalkeeper Lilly Leiprecht redirected it home for her fifth goal of the season.
- Reggie Hillery extended the UVM lead to five with 4:36 to play in the third quarter. Following some nice passing from Lauren Schellhamer and Ellie Reed Hillery tapped it home.
- The Raiders pulled one back with 5:40 to play in the contest. Bronwen Rees-Wiedemann scored her first career goal for Colgate on a penalty corner with a shot from the outside.
INSIDE THE BOX SCOREÂ

- After today's output the Catamounts have 43 goals this season, tied for second best all-time in program history with last year's team.
- With the win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to King Street Center as part of the Cats Win, Community Wins initiative. Since its inauguration in 2017, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group has donated over $80,000 to local non-profits through the Cats Win, Community Wins initiative. Â
