BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Catamounts returned to Moulton Winder Field this afternoon as they continue their season-opening five-game homestand. Vermont took on Lafayette, who they had not played for over 10 years.
Alina Gerke got the scoring started early, but the Leopards left it late as Josephine Van Wijk scored her second with 37 seconds to go to force overtime. The win takes the Catamounts to 2-1, and Lafayette moves to 1-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts got on the board quickly as Gerke redirected a Sophia Drees shot a little over a minute in.
- The Leopards struck back when Van Wijk scored on a penalty corner from Lineke Spaans and India Ralph.
- Meg Weyer restored the Vermont lead in the 39th minute as she redirected a pass from Lilly Leiprecht.
- The trio of Van Wijk, Spaans and Ralph struck again to tie the game at two with 37 seconds left.
- Gerke ended the game quickly when she scored her second of the game on assist from Sophia Lefranc.
