ALBANY, N.Y. – The Great Danes (15-3, 6-0 AE) scored twice in 16 minutes to defeat Vermont (7-8, 3-3 AE) on Friday afternoon.

"Unfortunately we had a few key defensive breakdowns and Albany did well to capitalize on those. HOW IT HAPPENED

• Marie Dijkstra had the Catamount's best two chances of the opening quarter when she forced the UAlbany defense into two saves in four seconds in the eighth minute.
• Makenna Lowe opened the scoring for the Great Danes in the 11th minute when she scored off an assist from Floor de Ruiter.
• Tessa Overgoor doubled the UAlbany lead when she scored solo in the 27th minute.
• Alison Smisdom made it three-nothing in the 49th minute when she scored unassisted.
• Dijkstra got a goal back for Vermont when she scored unassisted in the 54th minute.
