PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Guillermina Causarano's two goals helped ninth-ranked Rutgers (1-0) defeat Vermont (0-2) Sunday afternoon in New Jersey.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
	- The Scarlet Knights opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Indy Van Ek scored off an assist from Paulina Niklaus.
 
	- Sophia Drees had the Catamount's best chance of the first half when her penalty corner shot was saved in the 22nd minute.
 
	- The Scarlet Knights doubled their lead in the 24th minute when Causarano scored off the penalty corner from Niklaus and Kara Heck.
 
	- Vermont had a stretch of three penalty corners in the 35th minute but could not find the back of the net as they forced Rutgers into two saves and a blocked shot.
 
	- Causarano got her second of the game in the 38th minute when she tapped in a rebound.
 
	- In the 51st minute, Ava Cickavage found the back of the net to give the Scarlet Knights a four-goal lead.
 
	- Heck got Rutgers fifth when she converted a penalty stroke in the 53rd minute.
