COACH'S QUOTE
"We made a couple of uncharacteristic mistakes today that cost us the game, unfortunately," said Head Coach Kristi Huizenga. "We've been very solid all season and have been particularly good on the road outside of today. There was no flow to this game; it was either fouls or the ball was in the air and bouncing around the entire game which is not our style, and we didn't adapt. Credit to New Hampshire for executing their plan."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 4th minute of play, Meghan Guarente was able to break free from a Catamount defender, giving her the opportunity to rip a shot low right towards the net, but Kylee Carafoli was there to make a spectacular save, keeping the match scoreless early.
- Six minutes later, Lappin Delaney connected with Guarente who was all alone in the slot, where she rifled her shot high center on the UVM goalkeeper to give the Wildcats the 1-0 lead.
- The Wildcats made it 2-0 in the 41st minute when Elaina Grenz found the bottom left corner for her first goal of the season.
- No goals were scored for the entirety of the second half as the Wildcats ran away with the 2-0 conference win.
