COACH'S QUOTE
"This one sting more than most as we simply didn't execute when the opportunities were there," said Head Coach
Jim Plumer. "We have to be sharper and ready to make plays and we will certainly be stressing that going forward. No excuses. It's on us to be better."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BC's first year skater Olivia Maffeo opened scoring for the Eagles, scoring on the powerplay, her third goal of the season, tipping Jade Arnone's shot from the point in front of the net 11:11 into the opening period, earning Boston College the 1-0.
- Following a scoreless middle frame, the Eagles doubled their lead 3:49 into the final period when a UVM turnover in their own zone resulted in Alanna Devlin corralling the puck in the slot all alone, ripping a snapshot bar down to the blocker side for her third goal of the season, giving BC the 2-0 advantage.
- Despite the Catamounts outshooting the Eagles nine to five in the final period, BC's Grace Campbell saved everything sent her way as Boston College would seal the deal with an empty net goal, securing the 3-0 home victory.
