SMITHFIELD, R.I. – A first half brace from Philipp Kühn and four crucial saves from
Niklas Herceg boosted Vermont (10-0-5, 4-0-1 AE) over Bryant (13-1-2, 4-1 AE) 2-1 on Saturday night from Beirne Stadium. With the win, the Catamounts extend their nation long unbeaten streak to 25 matches, while also claiming first place in the America East conference with just two regular season matches remaining.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It didn't take the Catamounts long to strike first, seeing Kühn score just 2:26 into the match after receiving a pass from Andrew Millar, striking the ball with his left foot to fire the ball into the bottom left corner, securing his fourth goal of the season, earning Vermont a 1-0 lead.
- Kühn found the back of the net for the second time in the match, scoring a brace in the 29th minute, this time being fed by Marcell Papp. Kühn placed the ball in the same exact spot as his first, again with his left foot, securing his first career brace, earning the Catamounts a 2-0 lead.
- Vermont headed into halftime with the two-goal cushion over Bryant.
- Bryant saw a prime scoring chance in the 58th minute when a deep throw in resulted in Augustine Boadi sending a header towards the bottom right corner, but Herceg was there to make the diving save, his third save of the match at that point, maintaining the Catamounts lead, 2-0.
- Bryant bounced back, cutting the deficit in half in the 70th minute when Santiago Blasco Gomez pinned a shot through traffic to the bottom left corner, bringing the Bulldogs to within one, 2-1.
- Herceg was forced to make one more save in the 80th minute as the Catamounts maintained Bryant's final 10-minute push, securing their highest ranked win in regular season program history, defeating the Bulldogs 2-1 on the road.
