COACH'S QUOTE
"Second game of a road trip here," said Head Coach
Rob Dow. "We stayed on the road from playing NJIT on Saturday, we knew nutrition was going to be an important part of the match, but credit to Harvard, really good first half. We made an adjustment going into the second half, felt like we got a lot of control in their half, and we just weren't able to convert."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A foul on Marcell Papp in the 40th minute granted Vermont a free kick opportunity from just outside the box. Papp took the free kick, put laced a shot into the human wall created by Harvard, clearing the ball out of harm's way.
- Vermont remained persistent for the remainder of the half, controlling the ball for the majority of time, generating a total of four different corner kicks throughout the opening 45 minutes, but no goal were to show for it as the match got brought to halftime with a 0-0 score.
- The Crimson saw their best opportunity of the match in the 81st minute, seeing Andreas Savva break free up the middle, finding himself one-on-one with Niklas Herceg. Herceg charged out with his giant 6-foot-6 frame, forcing Savva to take a shot wide left of the net, maintaining the scoreless stalemate with time quickly running out.
- Harvard gained slight momentum in the minutes to follow, seeing another prime opportunity in the 87th minute from Xavier Tani, but his shot flew just top right over the net, floating over the fingertips of a diving Herceg.
- No goals were scored for the remainder of the match, as the non-conference contest ended in a 0-0 draw.
