BURLINGTON, Vt. — The University of Vermont Athletics (UVM) and Learfield, the media and technology company powering college athletics, today announced a 10-year renewal of their long-term partnership. Through Vermont Sports Properties, Learfield will continue serving as UVM's exclusive multimedia rights partner, extending a relationship that began in 2015. Beyond traditional rights, Learfield provides UVM with integrated data and digital revenue-driving solutions tailored to a new era of college athletics.
"UVM Athletics is thrilled to extend our partnership with Learfield and continue working alongside our exceptional Vermont Sports Properties team -- General Manager
Alicia Hawks, Senior Manager Lizzy Sayward and Coordinator
Evan Tremblay," said
Jeff Schulman, Director of Athletics of UVM Athletics. "During such a dynamic time in college athletics, we're proud to collaborate with such trusted partners who share our commitment to innovation and excellence. Together, we'll continue to create outstanding experiences for our student-athletes, Catamount fans, and our loyal partners throughout Vermont and beyond. A big thanks to Dan Gale and Brett Jones at Leona for their excellent guidance throughout this process."
Since partnering with Learfield, UVM Athletics has seen strong and sustained growth in its sponsorship program. Over the past 10 years, Vermont Sports Properties has recorded a notable increase in the value of partnerships, more than doubling total sponsorship revenue. Moreover, UVM Athletics' commitment to elevating the student-athlete experience and the game day atmosphere for fans has unlocked new sponsorship opportunities, including a recently announced on-field logo partnership at Virtue Field with EastRise Credit Union and expanded in-venue food and beverage options boosting incremental revenue for the university.
UVM has expanded its use of Learfield's enterprise-wide solutions by adding Paciolan, the company's ticketing, fundraising, and marketing provider. Beginning this year, Paciolan is delivering its industry-leading mobile ticketing technology for all ticketed sporting events at Patrick Gymnasium, Gutterson Fieldhouse and Virtue Field. The Catamounts also continue to engage fans and drive revenue growth through Learfield's integrated services, including licensed merchandise partner CLC, digital platform provider SIDEARM Sports in addition to the flagship multimedia rights division. Vermont and CLC have partnered since 2003, with the program growing over 60% in the past five years and recently collaborating on hot market sales around UVM's NCAA Men's Soccer National Championship.
"Our partnership with Vermont has stood the test of time because it's built on shared goals and a strategic focus on driving revenue growth," said Meghan Heinchon, Executive Vice President of Sports Properties at Learfield. "The addition of Paciolan demonstrates how we can continue evolving together, integrating new solutions that elevate the fan experience and create long-term value for the university."
Additionally, UVM will enhance its use of Fanbase, the most comprehensive fan data infrastructure in college athletics, and Fan365, Learfield's programmatic digital sponsorship and marketing platform, by enabling greater data accessibility through industry-leading websites, mobile apps, and streaming services. The multimedia rights team and the UVM Athletics staff will tap into demographic, geographic, and profile data metrics to better target Catamount fans and maximize brand partnership opportunities.
