LEXINGTON, Va. – For the second straight year the Catamounts opened the America East Swimming and Diving Championships setting a varsity record in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:41.53. After the first day of competition the Catamounts sit in fourth place with 84 points. New Hampshire leads the pack with 120 points while Bryant is in second with 97 points and UMBC rounds out the top three with 89 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont began their 2025 America East Championships on a high note with the record-breaking performance in the 200 Medley Relay. Alexis Torykian, Ellie Fazio, Hally Laney and Havana Layton finished second overall with a time of 1:41.53.
- Last year the four combined to set the school record in a time of 1:42.47.
- Bryant won the event with a pool record time of 1:41.09.
- Tannah Proudfoot qualified for the 3m diving finals for the Catamounts and finished sixth overall with a score of 221.10 points.
- UMBC's Ember Stennett won the 3m diving with a meet record score of 288.25 points.
- Vermont's combination of Jackie House, Emily Rocco, Ella Church and Anastazja Szukala finished second overall in the final event of the night the 800 Freestyle with a time of 7:24.79.
- UNH snapped the Catamounts streak of three straight wins in the event with a pool record of 7:21.08.
WHAT'S NEXT
Following Wednesday's action, the Catamounts will continue to compete in the America East Championships with Day Two on Thursday. Preliminaries will begin at 10 a.m. in the 500 Free, 200 IM and 50 Free followed by finals at 5:30 p.m. including the 200 Free Relay. All of Thursday's action can be streamed live on ESPN+.
