COACH'S QUOTE
"There's really not much to say about the game tonight," said Head Coach
Jim Plumer. "I've got to figure out a better way for us to play against BC for Saturday's game. That's our total focus."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- On the first powerplay opportunity of the opening period, Vermont was able to capitalize, scoring the first goal of the game 5:24 into action, seeing Ashley Kokavec wheel the puck from Vermont's own zone into the Eagles zone, electing to dish a pass to Lara Beecher who wasted no time putting a shot to the bottom left corner, beating Grace Campbell, ringing the puck post-in for her sixth goal of the year during her 100th career game, putting the Catamounts ahead, 1-0.
- The Eagles bounced back, scoring a powerplay goal of their own at the 14:14 mark of the first period when Jade Arnone fired a shot from the point, getting deflected by Gaby Roy for her ninth goal of the season, knotting the score, 1-1.
- 26 seconds into the second period, Arnone rifled a shot on net from the point again, making its way through all the traffic and finding the back of the net for her second goal of the season, earning the Eagles a 2-1 advantage.
- Boston College scored a third unanswered goal when Olivia Maffeo capped off a two-on-one rush sniping a snapshot bar-down, giving the Eagles the 3-1 advantage 5:23 into the middle frame.
- Katie Pyne scored for Boston College on the powerplay 9:08 into the second period, securing her fifth goal of the season to give the Eagles their fourth unanswered goal. Boston College led, 4-1.
- Molly Jordan scored one more for the Eagles before the end of the second frame, giving Boston College a 5-1 lead heading into the final period.
