NEWARK, N.J. – Vermont (4-4, 2-1 AE) cruised to a 19-8 road victory over NJIT (1-7, 0-2 AE) on Saturday afternoon from Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont opened scoring, seeing Frattaroli and Luke Reiter score back-to-back goals in a 43 second span, gaining a 2-0 advantage with 10:47 on the clock in the first quarter.
- The Catamounts countered a NJIT response tally by scoring three answered goals of their own, bringing them to a 5-1 lead with 3:40 remaining in the opening frame. Frattaroli, Decker, and Sean Stevens all contributed a goal in the offensive rush.
- Frattaroli secured a hat-trick with 46 seconds remaining in the first quarter, sniping a low shot through the NJIT goalie's legs, earning Vermont a 6-2 advantage heading into the second frame.
- Decker opened scoring in the second for his second goal of the game, followed up by Matthew Drimmie scoring his first goal of the game as Vermont extending its lead to 8-2 with 12:29 left on the clock until halftime.
- Walter Zhao secured his first goal of the season with 9:12 remaining until halftime, finishing a dish from Jack Combs in the slot, giving the Catamounts a 9-3 advantage.
- O'Brien notched back-to-back goals for Vermont at the 6:34 mark of the second frame, extending Vermont's lead to 11-3.
- Tristan Whitaker netted his first goal of the game with 4:30 remaining in the second quarter followed by Stevens finding the back of the net for the second time 13 seconds later, propelling Vermont to a 13-3 lead.
- Decker notched his hat-trick goal with just 2:18 remaining until halftime, sending Vermont into the third quarter with a double-digit advantage, 14-3.
- Colin Bullock and Kean Pare each connected for one goal apiece to begin the third frame to go along with O'Brien scoring his hat-trick goal with 9:33 on the clock in the third quarter.
- NJIT delivered one more goal before heading into the final quarter of action, seeing Vermont hold a 17-4 lead.
- Vermont native Sam Bowen tallied two goals in the fourth quarter to help close out the game as UVM rallied around a 19-8 road victory, securing the second conference victory in just as many games. Â
