Fairfield, Conn. – Sydney Remington recorded the lone goal for the Catamounts as Vermont (0-2-2) lost to Fairfield (3-1) 4-1 at Lessing Field on Sunday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 9th minute of the match, Fairfield had a goal opportunity, but Kylee Carafoli stormed to the edge of the box to make an aggressive save.
- A few minutes later, Kylee Carafoli made a diving save to her right.
- At the 14th minute, Fairfield's Maddy Theriault scored from inside the left side of the box, putting Fairfield on the board.
- In the 19th minute, Fairfield scored again from the left side of the box as Maddie Theriault recorded her second goal of the match.
- In the final minutes of the first half, Sydney Remington had a shot on the left side of the box that went just over the goal.
- At halftime, Vermont trailed 2-0.
- Sydney Slusser started as the goalkeeper to start the 2nd half.
- In the first minute of the 2nd half, Fairfield's Ashlyn Walsh would score giving Fairfield a 3-0 lead.
- Maddy Theriault converted inside the box for a hat-trick in the 48th minute as Fairfield led 4-0.
- A few minutes later, Sydney Remington would convert a penalty shot as Vermont still trailed 4-1.
