COACH'S QUOTE
"It's not easy to sweep any team in college hockey - our guys got the job done," said Head Coach
Steve Wiedler. "Proud of our senior class. They deserve to get two wins on senior weekend with how they've conducted themselves in this program. Well-deserved opportunity to enjoy this time with their families and teammates. Back to work Monday."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont opened the scoring 10:22 into the first period with a goal from Dawson Good right in front of the net. Dylan Gratton kept the puck in at the point and pushed the puck up to Thomas Sinclair. Sinclair cut to the net and fed a pass to Good who redirected it home for his second goal of the season.
- The Catamounts outshot the Skyhawks 14-1 in the first period. The single shot was the fewest Vermont has allowed in a single period in the Coach Wiedler era.
- Sinclair almost doubled the UVM lead at the 10:44 mark of the second period. Cutting down the wing on a two-on-two rush he rang a shot off the crossbar and out of play.
- Stonehill pulled their goaltender for the extra-attacker with a little over two minutes to play in regulation. Törnqvist put the game away with an empty net goal from 185 feet away. From behind the UVM net he tossed the puck dead center in the net for his second of the season. Good assisted on the play for his second career multi-point game.
