COACH'S QUOTE
"I thought we played much better today, and the outcome certainly could have been different," said Head Coach
Jim Plumer. "BC finished their chances and we didn't, despite creating the most offense we have had in the last four games. It's certainly something to build on."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston College opened scoring while on the power play 10:56 into the first period when Ava Thomas wheeled around the offensive zone with the puck, allowing Sarah Powers to get open backdoor, perfectly executing on a one-time shot, securing her sixth goal of the season, propelling the Eagles ahead 1-0.
- The Eagles doubled their lead 3:58 into the second period while on the power play again, this time seeing Madelyn Murphy find the back of the net, her second goal of the season, thrusting Boston College ahead 2-0.
- Grace Bickett tallied Boston College's third unanswered goal 7:15 into the middle frame, burying the rebound off Sawyer Merrill' breakaway that was initially denied by Tara Bach, scoring her second goal of the season, earning the Eagles a 3-0 advantage.
- The Catamounts were able to cut the lead down to two goals, securing a power play goal of their own 10:50 into the second period. Oona Havana dished a pass to Morgann Skoda down low, circling around the back of the net finding Rose-Marie Brochu to the right of the net. Brochu successfully picked the top right, short side corner, notching her second goal on the campaign, bringing Vermont to within two, 3-1.
- Vermont generated numerous opportunities in the final period, pinning 10 shots on goal, but the Catamounts were unable to capitalize on the chances as Boston College skated away with the 3-1 win on home ice.
