BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (2-2) defeated Quinnipiac (1-4) on Saturday afternoon at Virtue Field. Max Frattaroli and Zack Toll combined for seven of the Catamounts' 15 goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Catamounts opened the first quarter with three straight goals, going on a 3-0 run behind scores from Sean Grevelding, Frattaroli, and Toll.

Quinnipiac scored its first goal of the game at the 13:13 mark of the second quarter as Nate Watson tallied his 11th goal of the season for the Bobcats.

The Catamounts responded with a 4-2 run from the 9:30 mark of the second quarter to the end of the quarter. The surge began with Luke Reiter's fourth goal of the season and ended with Walter Zhao's second of the game at the 2:04 mark.

The Catamounts took a 7-3 lead over the Bobcats into halftime.

In the third quarter, the Catamounts went on a 4-1 run, with Frattaroli scoring three times in the quarter, completing a hat trick and reaching four goals on the game. Reiter added his second goal of the season at the 4:45 mark.

Vermont and Quinnipiac traded an even 4-4 run in the fourth quarter, with four different goal scorers for each team. The Catamounts opened the scoring at the 14:32 mark with a goal by Zack Toll, followed by a man-up goal from Tristan Whitaker, and additional scores from Ethan Pearson and Cullen Decker. The effort secured a victory for the Catamounts.
