BURLINGTON, Vt. – After capturing its ninth America East Championship and earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, the Vermont women's basketball team will face No. 3 Louisville (27-7, 15-3 ACC) at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN in the First Round in Louisville, Kentucky at the KFC Yum! Center.

The Catamounts and Cardinals will meet for the fourth time in series history on Saturday (Mar. 21). Vermont defeated Louisville 59-56 at Patrick Gym on December 19, 2004 in the first-ever meeting between the two teams. The Cardinals lead the all-time series 2-1, the teams last met December 21, 2008 at Freedom Hall a 67-56 win over UVM.
Fans can request tickets for the First Round of the NCAA Tournament at
go.uvm.edu/ncaa. The deadline to submit a request is 9 a.m. ET on Monday (Mar. 16). Tickets in the Vermont block are also good for the second game of the session No. 11 URI vs. No. 6 Alabama (2:30 p.m.).
Vermont brings a 27-7 record into the Big Dance, the Catamounts have won eight of their last nine games. The Catamounts defeated the two-seed Maine 61-43 in the conference title game on Friday (Mar. 13) at Patrick Gym to secure their third NCAA Tournament berth in the last four years.
For the 23rd consecutive year, an ESPN channel will broadcast all 67 games of the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship. This marks the 31st straight year (since 1996) ESPN is the championship's exclusive television home. All games will be available online via the ESPN app.
