BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (4-4, 2-1 AE) defeated NJIT (4-6, 1-1 AE) with a 14-5 score on Saturday afternoon, remaining undefeated at Virtue Field. Max Frattaroli and Zack Toll combined for 10 points to lead Vermont. The victory also marked a milestone for head coach Chris Feifs, who tied the program's all-time wins record with his 75th career win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Vermont opened the scoring at the 14:22 mark of the first quarter when Frattaroli netted his 15th goal of the season for a 1-0 lead.

NJIT answered at 9:41 of the first, as Carson Piscitiello scored to tie the game at 1-1.

The Catamounts responded with a 3-1 run over the final 6:09 of the quarter. Luke Reiter and Walter Zhao each found the back of the net, and Frattaroli added his second goal of the game on a man-up opportunity to give Vermont a 4-2 lead entering the second quarter.

Vermont broke the game open in the second quarter, scoring six unanswered goals. Frattaroli and Harrison Josloff each extended their goal total to two. While Toll and Tristan Whitaker added a goal apiece, giving the Catamounts a 10-2 advantage at halftime.

The Catamounts continued their momentum into the third quarter with a 3-0 run. Toll and Reiter notched their second goals, and Cullen Decker added his first to extend the lead.

NJIT halted the run late in the quarter, as Blake Piscitiello scored back-to-back goals, the first coming with 2:37 remaining and the second with six seconds left in the game.
