BURLINGTON, Vt. – No. 13 Vermont (1-0) will play in it's second match of a four match homestand on Sunday, Aug. 23 hosting Colgate (1-0, Patriot League) on Virtue Field during the team's annual Peter Baldwin Memorial Game presented by Morgan Stanley. Kickoff for the match is slated at 1 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Peter Baldwin Memorial Game: Tomorrow's annual Peter Baldwin memorial game allows us to honor Peter's memory, and the impact he had on both the Vermont and Morgan Stanley communities, as well as his stand-out career on the Men's Soccer team. Tomorrow,
Niklas Herceg is wearing a #11 arm band in Peter's honor, as they exhibit the work ethic, sportsmanship, and leadership that Peter embodied throughout his life.
Poster Day: Join the Cats on the concourse post-game to get your team poster signed by the players.
Youth Day: Bounce House, Inflatable Soccer, Mini Donuts, Cotton Candy and a Caricature artist will be available on the concourse.
VERMONT OUTLOOK
- Vermont opened the 2026 season with a 2-0 shutout victory over George Mason on Thursday (Aug. 20) in front of 2.125 fans, earning their second consecutive two goal victory in a season opening match. Last year, the Catamounts blanked Sacred Heart 2-0 in their season opener.
- Since 2021, the Catamounts are 17-1-4 in matches with 2,000+ fans in attendance.
- David Ismail was one of at least nine players across the country to record a brace on opening day, scoring both goals for the Catamounts en route their 2-0 victory over the Patriots. Islam Houssni tallied two assists in his Catamount debut while Philipp Schmidtke recorded one assist in his Catamount debut.
- Niklas Herceg notched a two save shutout against George Mason, putting him at 17 career shutouts in the Green and Gold.
- Vermont holds an all-time record of 10-6-2 over Colgate, most recently defeating the Raiders 2-0 in 2023, which happened to also be a Peter Baldwin Memorial Game as well.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
- Colgate was selected to finish eighth in the Patriot League Preseason Coach's Poll, garnering 32 points.
- The Raiders most recently defeated fellow America East member New Hampshire 1-0 in their season opener.
- Head Coach Erik Ronning enters his 22nd season at the helm of Colgate Men's Soccer.
- Sophomore Cole Ramey led the team in goals and points during the 2025 campaign with three goals and seven points. The Raiders also have Blake Pipkin returning to the squad, winner of the 2024 Patriot League Rookie of the Year award, who led the squad in assists in 2025.
