BURLINGTON, Vt. – No. 11 Men's Soccer (3-0-1) travels to Fairfield, CT where they will take on Sacred Heart (1-2-1, MAAC) from Park Ave Field on Tuesday, Sep. 1 in the first road match of the season for the Catamounts. Kickoff for the non-conference bout is slated for 5 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

VERMONT OUTLOOK
- The Catamounts most recently concluded a four match homestand defeating Holy Cross 2-0 earning their third win of the season. Through the first four matches of the season, UVM is unbeaten for the third time in the last six campaigns (2021, 2025, 2026).
- Vermont holds a 4-0-0 all-time record over Sacred Heart, most recently defeating the Pioneers last year during the Catamounts' 2025 season opener from Virtue Field by a score of 2-0. Vermont has never conceded a goal to Sacred Heart, outscoring the Pioneers 7-0 in four matches.
- The Catamounts are set to play in their first road match of the 2026 season. Since Nov. 1, 2024, Vermont is riding a 14-match unbeaten streak (10-0-4) while on the road.
- UVM has never trailed throughout the first four matches of 2026, scoring first in every contest thus far.
- Noel Bjork scored his first goal as a Catamount against Holy Cross while adding an assist. Pieter Bultman is on a two-match goal streak, scoring against Charlotte on Aug. 28 and Holy Cross on Sep. 1.
- David Ismail leads the squad in points (7) and goals (3). His point total leads all of America East and he is tied for the conference lead in goals.
- Bjork, Islam Houssni, and Luis Fischer all have tallied three assists thus far, all being tied for the conference lead in that department. Vermont is one of three teams in the country that has three players with three or more assists (Michigan St. and Longwood).
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
- Following its 2025 Metro Conference regular season championship, the Sacred Heart men's soccer team was selected as the preseason favorite in the 2026 Metro Conference Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- The Pioneers had three players selected to the Preseason All-Metro Team, including forward Ivan Morcillo, midfielder Danny Istambouli, and defender Daniel Losfablos.
- Sacred Heart welcomes Vermont to Park Ave Field holding a 1-0-1 record at home.
- The Pioneers most recently secured a 2-0 shutout victory on home turf against LIU on Sep. 1, the squads first victory of the season.
- Sacred Heart is anchored by graduate student defender Axier Zeberio who leads the team in points (5) and goals (2).
