BURLINGTON, Vt. – No. 11 Men's Soccer (4-0-1) will head down to Boston, MA on Tuesday, Sep. 8 to face Patriot League foe, Boston University (0-2-2), from Nickerson Field at 6 p.m. The Catamounts are seeking an unbeaten start through the first six matches of a season for just the sixth time in program history. All the action will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

VERMONT OUTLOOK

• The Catamounts bring a 15-match road unbeaten streak (11-0-4) into Boston on Tuesday, most recently earning their first road win of the 2026 campaign on Sep. 5 at Sacred Heart, defeating the Pioneers 2-0. Pieter Bultman scored his third goal of the year (currently on a three-match goal streak) while Luis Vetter opened his Vermont account scoring UVM's insurance goal. Luis Fischer extended his point streak to four matches, notching his fourth assist of the year against Sacred Heart (leads America East in that department). Niklas Herceg tallied his third shutout of the season, putting him at 19 career shutouts, good for sixth most all-time in program history.
• Herceg leads America East in goals against average per game (0.60), saves (17), and is tied for the most shutouts with three.
• Vermont has scored first in every match in 2026 and has yet to trail in a match.
• The Catamounts currently hold a 4-0-1 record, marking the best five-match start to a season since 2021 when Vermont went a perfect 5-0-0 to begin that campaign.
• Bultman's three goals on the year thus far are tied for second most in the country by a defender.
• UVM has an 11-24-9 all-time record against the Terriers. The most recent meeting between the two programs came last season in 2025 when the Catamounts rolled past Boston University with a 4-0 shutout win on Virtue Field.
• Vermont leads the America East in numerous categories including assists per game (2.80), goal differential (9), points per game (7.60), save percentage (0.850), scoring offense (2.40), total assists (14), total goals (12), and total points (38).
• The Catamounts have already faced two Patriot League opponents this season, defeating Colgate 4-1 and Holy Cross 2-0, both victories coming from Virtue Field.

 
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS

• Boston University was selected second in the Patriot League Preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving one first place vote.
• Forward Andrea Di Blasio and midfielder Pharis Petrica were both selected on the Preseason All-League Team.
• The Terriers are seeking their first win of the season, currently holding a 0-2-2 record. Most recently, Boston University battled to a 0-0 draw against fellow America East member, New Hampshire.
• First-year midfielder Ryan Ghajar and senior forward Lapo Romieri are the lone goalscorers for BU thus far in the season, each having one goal scored.
