SOPHOMORE SEASON (2017): Competed in all 12 EISA races … Named to UVM’s NCAA squad … Made his NCAA Championship premiere and finished with a time of 27:07.7 in the 10K classical race for a ninth-place finish and Second Team All-American honors … Earned a trio of podium appearances during the EISA season – all third place finishes at the UNH Carnival (:26:08.3, 10K classic), Dartmouth Carnival (:27:53.4, 10K classic), and Middlebury Carnival (3:39.7, classic sprint relay) … Helped his relay team to a fifth place finish (12:32.8) in the 3x5K freestyle relay at the Dartmouth Carnival … Took eighth place (:46:54.7) in the 20K freestyle mass start at the Middlebury Carnival … Earned EISA First Team All-East honors

FRESHMAN SEASON (2016): Competed in 10 races on the EISA Circuit ... Earned one podium appearance after finishing as the runner-up in the skate race at Colby ... BEFORE VERMONT: Came to Vermont after attending Green Mountain Valley School (Waitsfield, Vt.) and North Yarmouth Academy (Yarmouth, Maine) ... Was a part of the 2015 Junior National Relay Championship squad ... Was a five-time All-American at the Junior National Championships ... Posted two straight podium appearances at the Junior Nationals in the Distance 25K race ... Was a two-time Maine State Champion and ranked second among juniors for his birth year during the 2015 season.

Comes from an athletic family - great grandfather William Rand ran track at Harvard and competed in the 1908 Olympics, finishing fourth in track; Father played hockey and lacrosse at Bowdoin; Mother competed in crew at Williams ... Aunt Linda Moore was a member of the UVM field hockey team ... Was born in Anchorage, Alaska ... Is a mechanical engineering major.
