BEFORE VERMONT: Giancola comes to Burlington from Canton High School where she was a state champion and the school's all-time leading scorer in two sports ... Tallied a school-record 522 career points on 353 goals and dealt 169 assists in her four-year career with the Warriors ... Set the school record with 115 goals as a junior and later broke her own mark with 120 goals as a senior ... Led Canton to back-to-back North Central Connecticut Conference titles as a junior and senior ... Guided the Warriors to a Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference Class S State Championship as a junior ... Was a three-time All-State First Team selection and Second Team All-State honoree as a freshman ... Also four-year letterwinner in field hockey and holds the school record for most career goals (58).
