2014:Â Won the Nor-Am Cup slalom races at Loveland, Colo. in November ... also posted his best finish in a World Cup race with a pair of 20th place finishes at Kitzbuehel and Schladming in the slalom ... Competed in six races on the EISA Circuit ... Won the slalom at Dartmouth and posted two third-place finishes in the GS and slalom at the EISA Championships ... Named to UVM's NCAA squad for the thrid straight season ... Finished in third in the slalom and was sixth in the GS at the NCAA Championships ... Helped UVM move from fifth to second place on the final day ... Closed out his collegiate career with 11 wins and 25 podium appearances.
2013: Competed in seven races on the EISA Circuit … Made UVM’s NCAA team for the third straight year … Won the GS at the 2013 NCAA Championships and was fourth in the slalom … Also posted wins in the slalom at the Colby Carnival and the GS at the Middlebury Carnival.
2012: Competed in 10 races on the year … Earned a top-10 finish in all 10 races … Made seven podium appearances … Won the GS at the Dartmouth Carnival and the slalom at the EISA Championships … Finished third in the GS at the EISA Championships … Was the runner-up in both the GS and slalom at the UNH Carnival … Made UVM’s NCAA team for the second straight year, posted a pair of seventh place finishes in the GS and slalom.
2011: Was the named the EISA Men's Alpine Rookie of the Year ... He placed in the top three in all but one race this year and picked up four victories ... He won both the giant slalom and slalom at the UVM Carnival … Nordbotten also won the GS at both the St. Lawrence and Dartmouth Carnivals … He finished the year as the points leader in the GS among EISA skiers … Was disqualified from both NCAA races, in the GS he lost a ski midway through the first run, but was able to finish the race on one leg and would have been among the top-10 skiers for the second run if NCAA rules had not prohibited from continuing.
BEFORE VERMONT: Nordbotten was a two-year member of the Jr. National Ski Team and a five-year member of the Norwegian National Team … Placed first at the Norwegian National Championship in the slalom in 2010 ... Spent five years on the Norwegian National Team before attending Vermont ... Won the Norwegian National Championship in the slalom in 2008 ... Finished third in the combined at the World Junior Championships in 2006 in Spain.
PERSONAL: Is the son of Erik Hjelm-Hansen and Lager Mette Nordbotten of Kolbotn, Norway… Has a younger sibling Rikke … Is majoring in community entrepreneurship.
