2011 SEASON: Competed in three races ... Ran a season-best time of 25:24 at the UMass Invitational to place 17th among Vermont runners and 65th overall ... Ranked eighth on the team (27:54) at a sub-varsity race the following week at the Paul Short Invitational.
2010 SEASON: Competed in six races … Was among the top-10 Catamounts in three races … Posted a season-best time of 27:09 at the New England Championships … Finished 22nd overall and fourth among Catamounts at the St. Michael's Invitational.
2009 SEASON: Ran in five races … Scored for the Catamounts at the Vermont State Meet … Was eighth overall and third among UVM runners … Also earned a top-10 finish at the Saint Michael's Invitational, placing eighth and was sixth among Vermont runners.
BEFORE VERMONT: Came to Vermont from Pinkerton Academy ... Four-year member of the track and field team ... Competed in the New England Cross Country Championships once and also participated in the New England Track & Field Championships three times during his career.
PERSONAL: Is the son of David Sears and Nancy Sears-Russell ... Has four other siblings ... Brother Andrew runs cross country and track & field at Keene State ... Is a biology major.
